Wausau Area High Schools Uthrotar Program

The Rotary Club of Wausau has partnered with Wausau East High School, Wausau West High School, DC Everest High School, Newman Catholic High School and Northland Lutheran High School to form our club’s High School Uthrotar Program.

At the start of each school year, each high school selects 14 senior students who exemplify the Rotary motto of “Service Above Self.”  Each month (October through April), two students from each school attend our weekly meetings.  The Uthrotar students participate in our meetings and club activities, too!

For the students, participating in our meetings as a Uthrotar provides them an opportunity to learn about Rotary International, network with the community leaders in our club, learn about different professions, and apply for our club’s Rotary Scholarships!

For club members, interaction with our Uthrotars keeps our members connected with the top high school students in our community and we learn about events important to our high school students. Rotary believes in developing the next generation of leaders.  Our Uthrotar program helps our high school senior students build leadership skills, expand education, and learn the value of service.

Our hope is that these students will gain a positive experience as a Uthrotar and someday become a Rotarian!
